Jack User oriented resources

[jackme]

Jack seems supply rich developer resources, but i have found little for users.

Here are some ideas, which i would participate in:
Wiki
private Usenet server.
or public usenet user groups?
IRC channel.

I had some difficulty with mumble.  If it works well, it might be useful.
A multi user voice chat with jack capability would be great.

I know nothing about serving RSS, but maybe there is use for it.
A jack-user list could be made.

Notably absent in my proposals is: a web based forum.

I think a wiki looks appropriate at this point as a way to gather floating bits & pieces.
The Sun openoffice.org-wiki-publisher is nice, by the way.
The wiki would be well augmented another means of interactive communication.

Already done : http://trac.jackaudio.org/ although trac seems down.

Sounds like it'd be useful to make the existing resources easier to find.
Admittedly, having http://www.jackaudio.org and http://trac.jackaudio.org
next to each other, but hardly linking to each other, doesn't help.

What's the future plan for this? I could imagine migrating the content from
www.jackaudio.org to the wiki at trac.jackaudio.org, and eventually dropping
the drupal installation.

I can imagine no-one's volunteering for this just yet, so for the time being
it might be a good improvement to link to trac.jackaudio.org more prominently
from www.jackaudio.org - for example in the top-right menu.

Not sure if that can be done from the drupal web interface, but if so I'd
happily offer to help a bit there, adding links and moving pages to trac - as
soon as it's up again, of course :).

dreamhost changed servers and lost all the mysql hostname aliases.
marc or someone - can you let me know what DB host name
trac.jackaudio.org is expecting to use and i'll reset it.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. As far as I remember, it's Pieter Palmers who
setup the trac site. Dunno what he used for the database hosting... Sorry.
