I live in Victoria, BC and for the last two years I've been developing and maintaining an advanced, database-driven web application using ColdFusion 8 with Flex and Flash Media Server tie-ins (those parts handled by another developer). For two years before that, I was a network/website/firewall/Oracle9i&10G/everything Admin including some advanced Apache configuration, and loads of SQL. In addition I have about 6 months of experience with PHP working on a project that was put on hold.
Ideally I'm looking for a local, semi-local (across the water to Vancouver), or contract telecommute opportunity to enhance my existing skills. I don't mind relocating beyind that, but the position would have to be right since I would have to move my wife and two young children with me.
Sadly the project I had been working on is now defunct and the company out of business, so my portfolio is rather limited. Nearly nonexistent, in fact. I do, however, have references.
I would love the opportunity to prove my skills and learn something new. I am an extremely fast learner and can usually pick things up by either reading or being shown just once.
