This list is indeed not meant for suggestions like these. You could either
file a 'wish' for this at
http://bugs.kde.org, talk about this in the plasma
IRC channel or subscribe and send an email to the plasma mailinglist. Knowing
the people there, they probably did think of this (for programmers I think
this is relatively obvious) so they might be working on it, or have decided it
won't work for some reason. But at least asking about it on IRC wouldn't hurt.
