KNode fails with memory error

Hi,

if I try to start KNode I receive:

"The instruction at "0x7c910f1e" referenced memory at "0x036d6d6d".
The memory could not be "read".

Any idea what this means? Shall I open a bug for this?

Hi Ted,

thanks for the answer. I tried the version 4.3.2 which is included in
the automatic installer from
http://winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/installer/kdewin-installer-gui-latest.exe

I believe you referring to the compiler mingw. It looks like the
version I have was created with cl.exe (from another KDE app -> Help
-> Report Bug). Is there an installer which allow to install the mingw
version?

thanks for your answer. Unfortunately the mingw version also fails.

On the server  I could only find version 4.3.0 which included kdepim.
The 4.3.1 and 4.3.2. on the server did not include kdepim. This
version also fails with an memory error.

I'm not download the mingw4 version and going to try this one.

Can you tell me how I can remove the other (non-working) KDE version?
The installer does not seem to have a de-install option and KDE does
not show up in the Windows installed programs.

This is maybe because kdepim once more doesn't compile on windows. I
tried it for the last few days (svn head) but ... it's useless to
discuss about the kdepim/windows situation I think :(

Please ask the kde-pim folks about this problem as we can't help here.

Hi Lars,

kdepim-mingw4 version 4.3.2 was installed on my XP computer and knode
,kmail along with Kontact works for me. Ensure that you are using mingw4
throughout including qt-mingw4-4.5.2 patched. There is a "send" error
for kmail as reported in another post. Also, Amarok has an error and I
noticed that it is no longer on the uwaterloo.ca mirror.

Simply remove the complete installation directory (there have been no
important settings in the registry done).

What makes you think it is useless to discuss the kdepim/windows situation?
We are actively working on it.
Last week saw an Akonadi sprint in Berlin and of course this caused a bit of
unstability. Kdepim is not known to be stable except for the enterprise4
branch. The upcoming prototype-e5 is currently contructed in head, as far as
I know.

So what is there to discuss?
