KOHA and computer reservation softwareHello, (I'm posting this to more than one KOHA list - sorry if you
get multiple copies)
I work at the Grand County Public Library is Moab, UT. We are a
Liblime customer and we have been using KOHA in our library since May
2009. We would like to know if there are any libraries that are
using computer reservation software integrated with KOHA to manage patron
sessions on their public computers. Please email my library director -
Carrie Valdes at mcarrie@... with
information about what you are using and what level of pc management it
provides. If you are not currently doing this, but would like to be
and you are interested in this as a development project please
let us know. We've been told about a very basic open source
computer reservation software option, and we are also considering non-open
source products like the reservation software from Envisionware.
I'm getting ready to leave on vacation until Nov. 2nd and I
will have unreliable email access while I'm gone. So, please direct
emails to my library director until November.
Thank you so much for your help!

Re: KOHA and computer reservation softwareWell, this interesting. Its possible, using some Borrower Extended Attributes for internet time/credits, using iptables and something like nodog. A few extra buttons for the user.. Activate net time, Deactivate net time, and a page for interface for the librarian, to look up the borrower on Koha, click Internet, enter in the time to credit... Yah, sounds like a plan. I'd like to get paid for doing something like this. Waylon From: Adrea Lund <adrea@...> To: koha-devel@... Re: KOHA and computer reservation softwareIt's not quite reservation software, but I'm the developer of another
oss project named Libki ( http://libki.org ). It doesn't support reservations yet, but it will in the future. I've added limited koha integration so there is single sign-on between the two. I is essentially a timer system, but only on a first-come-first-served basis at them moment. I'm planning on doing complete rewrites of the client and server once we are done with our dev_week to 3 switchover.
