Kannel wiki

Hi!

Around year and a half ago, I proposed creating a Kannel Wiki, where
people could post sample configurations, and how to do this and
that...
http://www.kannel.org/pipermail/users/2008-March/004148.html

There are many typical questions that arise again and again every once
a while, like how to send wap push, how to use TLVs and many other
ones...
And we all know it's kinda bothering...

Wouldn't it be cool to create a wiki where this type of things can be
addressed, and when somebody asks just point them there?
Also with it I guess many people would go directly without even
asking, cause it's easier to find stuff there than search mailing
lists...

I had proposed this on the users mailing list, but I guess it's better
to do it here where the main developers coexist (you're also on the
users list, but most don't participate that much on it).

What do you guys think?

Hi,

What is the advantage over adding a TLV example in the User guide (wap push
is already in there)? We direct each one to the user guide, but new people
are very impatient. I feel that we should focus to one reference rather than
diluting ourselves over too many things.

BR,
Nikos

+1 for a wiki - excellent idea.

Tthe User Guide already includes an example, but the idea is that on
the wiki you could far expand it.
I have heard here before that the idea is to not clutter the User
Guide with lots of examples and stuff like that.

On the Wiki you could do it... you could put the configuration for all
the TLVs of mBlox (which is on of the most named ones on the list) or
whatever other carrier/aggregator... so you would not only be putting
small examples, but specific configurations, and how to do this or
that

You can also include sample code in different languages on how to do
different stuff, like TLV related stuff, or how to generate/parse
DLRs, send Wap Push (to mention the most recurring ones) or whatever

All things that not apply to the User Guide, but are all the tome
appearing on the mailing-list.

Just use your imagination  :)
