Kernel reports segfault

Hi list,

how is it possible to get a segfault, without killing the application? My
program will terminate in a correct manner, while the kernel reports a:

clockread[22206]: segfault at 0 ip b7f86967 sp bfea7c14 error 4 in libusb-0.1.so.4.4.4[b7f85000+3000]

Jul 26 18:45:22 star clockread: err is -99
Jul 26 18:45:22 star clockread: USB: Error reading data
Jul 26 18:45:22 star clockread:  USB error: Unknown error Trying to reconnect...
Jul 26 18:45:22 star clockread: Cannot query manufacturer for device: Unknown error
Jul 26 18:45:42 star last message repeated 19 times
Jul 26 18:45:43 star clockread: Cannot re-connect USB device. Giving up.
Jul 26 18:45:43 star clockread: Exiting gracefully

The kernel message occures when my program outputs the
"Cannot re-connect USB device. Giving up" message. I expect a segfault would
also kill my application. Do I miss something?

Regards,
Juergen

Did you solve it? Can you reproduce with libusb-1.0?
(maybe +libusb-compat-0.1)
