LD related questionhello everyone,
I have asked the same question to Palm Support, but I am certain the solution they give is not the right one (surprised?). I have 2 1/2 year old LifeDrive that's beginning to show its age. I know it is only a matter of time before it dies, or become so incapacitated that I will have to replace it. On the other hand, I was able to secure a spare one (from my boss, she now uses a Treo) that has only been used for a year, infrequently. I would like to clone my current machine to the spare one and start using it. Palm support says to hotsync the old one, and synch the "new" and the trick is complete. However, I think stuff like apps tht I added, and Documents-to-go files will not be copied over to the new machine. Only the "Outlook" data (To-do, Contact, Calendar) are copied Short of opening up the two units and swapping the HDD, is there a way to clone the old to the new unit? Many thanks, Maurice |

RE: LD related questionHas the Lifedrive really bean around for 2.5 years? My, how time doth
fly... Hotsync should work just fine. I just moved from one T3 to another. Documents to go migrated flawlessly. The only file that I needed to move manually was "unsaved preferences", and that was just to preserve some game High Scores! I would recommend using Filez to copy the "old" machine's files to an SD, then wiping it, or making sure that it is not inadvertently synced.
