I've been using Kile as a LaTeX "IDE" for years.
It has, until Fedora 9, interoperated really well with KDVI, allowing you:
1) to jump back and forth between .tex source and .dvi file:
kile.sourceforge.net/Documentation/html/quick_forward.html
kile.sourceforge.net/Documentation/html/quick_inverse.html
2) to recompile and KDVI senses the file change and automagically refreshes,
keeping you at the same page so you don't need to repage forwards to where you
were working.
It's nice to have two windows open simultaneously without having to tab back
and forth and manually refresh and rescroll to where you were before.
For some reason Fedora has stopped shipping kdvi and I have found no
replacement which works appropriately.
Has anyone had any success in replacing kdvi with something that does all
the following?
forward search
inverse search
auto refresh
Any recommendations?
Thanks for your help!
Phil
