Have you guys ever had a look in the nomachine-client configuration? There are some language stanzas. It works fine for me to change between German and English. Re: Language changeThanks for you help.
User A has local language as Chinese. He wishes to remotely login using freenx. If logs in remotely everything is in English On the other hand if he logs in locally it is in Chinese. What I need to know is how to allow individual users to select their own language. Tried, Article: http://www.nomachine.com/ar/view.php?ar_id=AR08D00412 but this did not work. Please note that each user needs to have their own language not gloabally. Re: Language changeHad a look, but I think I am blind.
How do you change the "language stanzas" Steven Drinnan On Tue, 2009-09-22 at 16:40 +0200, Stefan Bauer wrote: > ChrisB schrieb: > > Steven James Drinnan <steven@...> wrote on 22/09/2009 07:16:02: > > > >> Does anyone have an answer. > >> > >> How do I allow each individual user to change their langauge? > > > > > > Probably no-one has answered because nno-one else gets this. > > Have you guys ever had a look in the nomachine-client configuration? > There are some language stanzas. I just installed the latest nomachine-Client to provide the configuration snippet: (You find the configuration in C:\Documents and Settings\username\.nx\config\name.nxs) There are then 2 entries like: <option key="Current keyboard" value="true" /> <option key="Custom keyboard layout" value="" /> Another way to specify the user language is to come up with individual scripts for each of them like: User A wants English so he get a script called /usr/local/bin/english.sh which sets the variables for him: #!/bin/sh setxkbmap -rules xfree86 -model pc104 -layout us -option "" xterm So if he runs this script, it should first set the environment and then start an xterm. Stefan PS: On my debian machine, the path to the keyboard layouts where different, so i had to adjust it by setting: AGENT_EXTRA_OPTIONS_X="-xkbdir /usr/share/X11/xkb" in /usr/NX/bin/nxloadconfig Furthermore, this are the packages i had to install on my debian machine to get things working: openssh-server vim patch libc6-dev expect foomatic-db-engine foomatic libaudiofile0 make gcc openssl libfreetype6-dev libxext6 libxpm4 libxcomposite1 xutils-dev xutils xkb-data xfonts-base xkbsel xterm xbase-clients xfonts-base Really important was xkb-data and xfonts-base as well as xkbsel for the language support. The nx client picks up the LOCAL keyboard and country settings and sends them as a parameter when connecting. If the windows setting is not recongnized by linux then it defaults to US. This is a good first thing to check . . . . > > On Tue, 2009-09-22 at 09:40 +0100, ChrisB wrote: > > > > > > Steven James Drinnan <steven@...> wrote on 22/09/2009 07:16:02: > > > > > Does anyone have an answer. > > > > > > How do I allow each individual user to change their langauge? > > > > > > Probably no-one has answered because nno-one else gets this. > > > > What happens if the user logging in to FreeNX from windows logs in > > locally on the FreeNX machine ??? > > > > ie > > > > Does the problem follow the user account ?? > > > > > > > > I've checked and checked.
