Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2Hi all, If anyone still has a dictionary update that should be integrated into OOo 3.2 please file an issue and attach the respective files. You may assign the issue directly to me (tl). It would be best if the issues got submitted at this Sunday evening at latest, because than I could integrate all of them in the same CWS I currently have at hand. As for dictionaries for new language that are not already in the source tree: I can not promise that they will be added in time for 3.2 since there has to be some legal review for those. Re: Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2Hi
I do not have a dictionary update, but an update for the autocorrect data for Luxembourgish: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=103247 I hope you can take a look at it and integrate it into your CWS for 3.2 as well. I installed OOo 3.2 DEV300m60, and I noticed that the French dictionaries extension was an old one (v2.3.3), whereas the version included in OOo 3.1 was the version 3.2.0. Why such a regression? I created an issue for the latest dictionaries (v3.4.1): http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=105510 Regards, -- Olivier R. == Adresse mail réservée aux listes de discussion. == == Les messages venant d’ailleurs sont _automatiquement_ effacés. == ** E-mail dedicated to mailing-lists. ** ** Messages from anywhere else are _automatically_ erased. ** --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscribe@... Re: Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2I would like to submit a dictionary, but dont have the final go ahead
for using the wordlist. I should get permission after a meeting next Thursday. Would that be to late? It is for the secwepemc language. Our project said is shs.openoffice.org. However in your case I see a way bigger problem! For a language/dictionary to work with spell checking etc. we need a proper ISO locale for the language (e.g. en_CA). But when I tried to find one for secwepemc (Shuswap) I didn't get any result. Of course it would be possible to misapply another existing, and so far unused, locale to get spell checking done. And I have no problem with such a dictionary existing in the extension repository (see http://extensions.services.openoffice.org) since it will still be useful to many people. Actually spell checking for Latin was done like that for a long time... But I have my problems with integrating a dictionary that misapplies a language into the vanilla product. Tl->ER: Do you know if there is a working locale for Secwepemc? Any further comments? Re: [l10n-dev] Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2Hi again, Minor update: product management decided that new auto correction data will be targeted to OOo 3.3. The reason why dictionary extensions get handled differently is that it is considered to be annoying if the user will just have installed a new OOo 3.2 and that one is going to install updates right away. Re: Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2Hi Goran, First thanks for the auto correction data! However, due to product management decision will go into OOo 3.3 and not OOo 3.2. See my latest posting in the ML for more about this. I hope you will not be disappointed too much. Re: Last call for dictionary updates to be integrated in OOo 3.2Weytk,
My presentation to the Secwepemc Cultural Education Society (SCES) board was accepted and the board has agreed to support the release of their wordlist under the LGPL for use in a Hunspell dictionary. Would a letter statying that they release their wordlist be good and would someone have a template for this? If you want a reference look into the sub directories of the 'dictionaries' project in the source tree. Usually it is some file named license.txt or README* and then that one is either one of - simply stating which license do apply (for example GPL v3) - or pride a link to the actual license text - or have a copy of the license text in that file Sometime even multiple licenses are listed e.g. GPL and MPL.
