Let's ship beta 3

[Bharat Mediratta]

There are some functional problems with Beta 3, but it's a substantial
step forward from Beta 2.  I'd like to ship it this weekend, but I just
wanted to make sure that there's no final UI polishing in the pipeline.

I didn't get any response to my last "help us test" email, or if I did I
didn't see it.  :-(

Chad, can you sign off on beta 3 so that we can ship?  Thanks!

Aside from the IE8 stuff Chad just mentioned in IRC.  I haven't seen any major functional problems.  But just saw and verified this Organize UI issue:

I think B3 is good and we, well you guys, :)  can work on polish for RC.

The only other functional UI stuff I can see (maybe because I've just seen them this morning) being reported:

HTML being shown in the Info module (even with Purifier installed)
er, never mind, you've fixed that :)

If albums are sorted by creation date (I assume this is using EXIF info) the pager goes wonky:

I promise to exercise B3 - I plan to attempt a test integration into an Artist

Sorry for no comments - I was so distracted by the way G3 doesn't use the
standard kohana application structure (I know - too late to comment now but I
was hoping I could pop G3 modules into a kohana site and be like very close to
integrated :) ) that I forgot I was supposed to test.

The story looks great.

I wonder if it is possible to collapse all but the beta 3 enhancements
into some sort of... collapsible doo-dad?  I don't mean get rid of
them (is very nice to see them), but if there were just a "+" sign
type expander or something for each mile stone that isn't the current,
it'd save a lot of room and give a much stronger display of what is
from this release vs. previous ones (not that the (beta 2) and (beta
3) tags aren't fairly obvious).

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to switching to gallery3 and
getting it all to play nice with my site :)

Beta 3 release is underway!  I've tagged the code and made a candidate
zip file.  Can I get a few people to sanity test it before I push it live?

We've got the zip file back down to 1.3M which is completely awesome.
As I was saying in the channel, our code is now 4.5M.  Our nearest
competitor (who incidentally claim that they are "the simplest, most
useful gallery software for your website") is 18M.  We are definitely on
the right track here!

Off to put my kids to bed.  Back at about 8:30 when I'll start pushing
this sucker out.

It's always either sf.net or freshmeat that is broken. Today, it's sf.net
