Let me tell you about the honda blowers

Just thought I would pass this on. Our company has be using the old yamahas for 15 years. We had been using the heck out of them over the years with few repairs. Nothing would stop them. We needed new blowers as we had picked up some new accounts. So we bought 10 Hondas. First snow storm 5 out of ten went down. They are junk compared to the Yamahas.

I'm told that the Yamaha snowblowers are being sold again in North America in 2010, next winter.
 I'm waiting for them !!

I have an older Honda HS-80 (8hp) that is a strong performer.  What issues did you run into with the Hondas? The Yamaha snowblowers share a large percentage of their parts with honda. The old Yamaha side valve engines are really no match for the new overhead valve technologies. The current (new) yamaha snowblowers all use OHV engines.  I'd like to know where the honda's fell short. That's not to say I would trade my YS for an HS.

The tracks came off, handles came apart and did not seem to have the same power

Nice to know....  I looked at a HONDA that had been traded in with about a yrs service (1 season).  The sales guy told me the electric chute motor/control had already failed & been fixed....
