This is English locale. For Russian you need run Wine programs with:
Code:
LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 wine program.exe
|

|
Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
And in case that doesn't work, run the following command just once first:
Code:
locale-gen ru_RU.UTF-8
|

Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
try "loacle -a" : it shows what locales are supported.
On my system, it returns this :
Code:
$ locale -a
C
en_AU.utf8
en_BW.utf8
en_CA.utf8
en_DK.utf8
en_GB.utf8
en_HK.utf8
en_IE.utf8
en_IN
en_NG
en_NZ.utf8
en_PH.utf8
en_SG.utf8
en_US.utf8
en_ZA.utf8
en_ZW.utf8
fr_BE.utf8
fr_CA.utf8
fr_CH.utf8
fr_FR.utf8
fr_LU.utf8
POSIX
$
Then you can export LANG= with one of the list the command "locale -a"

Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
Also I have strange error:
err:shell:SHGetFolderPathAndSubDirW Failed to create directory L"C:\\users\\alexey\\\041c\043e\0438 \0434\043e\043a\0443\043c\0435\043d\0442\044b".
Wine cannot find the FreeType font library. To enable Wine to
use TrueType fonts please install a version of FreeType greater than
or equal to 2.0.5.
May be its a problem for letters?
But I have installed Freetype...

Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
I think what found a problem.
In Wine registry I found:
Codepages 1252,437
I change it to 1251,866....
But then I start a new program data in registry was change to old 1252 :(
How I can to save 1251 ?

Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
I don't think it's a matter of registry keys.
What version of wine do you use ?
The latest is wine-1.1.33.
Your ~/.wine is maybe corrupted or misconfigured.
So "rm -Rf ~/.wine" or move it elsewhere ("mv ~/.wine ~/.wine_backup") and then do "winecfg" to recreate ~/.wine directory.
Do
Code:
LANG=ru_RU man man
quit (press q)
then
Code:
LANG=C man man
and quit
As you can see, it allows you to change the language once (for an application) without overwriting system wide preferences.
Can you write and read Russian texts ?
If not, it seems you don't have right fonts installed.
How did you installed TrueType ? From a package ?
Code:
err:shell:SHGetFolderPathAndSubDirW Failed to create directory L"C:\\users\\alexey\\\041c\043e\0438 \0434\043e\043a\0443\043c\0435\043d\0442\044b".
Do you have enough rights ?

Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
I installed Freetype from source.
I decided problem with Freetype, when install it through Macports as +universal...
Possible its a problem, what Macports make all ports in Snow Leopard as 64 bit...
|

|
Re: Letters like ???????????? :(
I decide a problem with Freetype as 2 variant.
I copy freetyp* files from /opt/local/lib/ to /usr/lib
But problem with cyrillic letters stayed.
I use wine 1.1.33. I build it from sources.
I used wine from Macports.
Problem only for Mac Os 10.6
In 10.5 all Ok.
Also I found, what in Notepage under Wine I can not type Russian letters...

Need to file a bug report with Apple. Looks like this is another 64 bit
problem they will have to solve.

That's correct, Wine does that automatically according to your environment settings (LANG env var).

Everything works fine on Linux. File bugs with apple.
