Light socket with cord?

Hi all. I've been asked to help source a specific lamp socket
assembly. Basically I'm looking for a standard E26 medium Edison base
socket prewired with about 20' of wire. Preferred colour would be
black for both the socket and the cable. They don't need to have that
screw on ring to hold a shade. Wire could be terminated in a 2 prong
parallel blade plug (standard for North America) or just bare wires.

Looking for about 225 of these suckers. I've found some with 4' of
wire geared towards the lamp making market. My feeling is that if all
that isn't available is a 4' length I might as well just buy them
without cable and put in the length I need.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Josh

Ikea has something very close to that at retail: 4.7m white cable,
black socket, $4.  <http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10175810>

I've seen those...only problem with that is they don't ship...and the
white cord. Still I'm sure if I called them they might make an
allowance for such a large order...

Any electrical supply house that supplies electricians will have it.  Ask an
electrician you know or try the yellow pages for a supplier near you.

Woodwork or stained glass suppliers will have complete assemblies.  Probably
short lengths, and often with a switch.

Best bet is to go to an electrical supply or regular hardware shop, get the
bits & make your own.

I know you won't find them in Australia, I'm fairly sure there's a
regulation limiting cable lengths.  The longest cable & plug assembly I've
found off the shelf was around 8 feet, used for hairdryers.  I guess they
take exception to long runs of thin unearthed cable.

I've been poking around...the challenge is the quantity I want and the
length of the cable. The ideal assembly would be UL listed, something
that anything we build by hand won't be. Also I'm just not sure I have
enough manpower/time to assemble 200 of these things.

I'll keep digging though!
