London Scala User Group?

I can see from some old posts that there have been a few LSUG meetings (one literally just down the road from my flat!), but things seem to have been quiet for the past few months. Also, it looks like there was a website at one point (lsug.org) but that doesn't seem to exist any more.

Is the group still alive? Does anybody in London fancy a beer? :)

I'd be keen if there's another one. Whereabouts are/were they?

A.

We need a new domain name after lsug.org lapsed

All ideas are welcome, but we DO have a server available for this and
I'll be able to resurrect the site in no time :)

A meet would be good, is anyone able to host or are we looking for a
suitable bar?

I'm in. The last meeting, showcasing the coming features of 2.8, was definitely good.

It seems to me there are two types of meeting. Presentations like the above, with somebody in charge and a semblence of sobriety, versus more general social meetings at a pub where people trade war stories and compare coding styles. Given the number of people who don't know enough about Scala, I'm in favour of more presentation style meetings if possible.

Hi all, a suggestion,

There is a java unconference on the 28Nov (southbank, 20pound to get in). Is anybody interested in a pub meetup afterwards?
As its an unconference then if somebody wants to do a more formal talk then maybe that could be part of the day (think they are currently looking for ideas, maybe one on 'what are people doing with scala' could be a session)

Unconference details:
http://www.meetup.com/Londonjavacommunity/calendar/11677002/
(You may need to logon to read the details)

Interesting...

I'm also wondering if anyone's going to be coming via the UK on their
way to/from devoxx - that would also be a good one to co-ordinate
around.

I'm coming along to the Unconference. Pub afterwards is always welcome.
