Looking forward to seeing people tomorrow

It's been a long time since I made it out on a Tuesday evening.  I'm
really looking forward to tomorrow's meeting.  I was also planning to
bring a "sick" ubuntu install in case anyone want's to make
speculative diagnosis.  My guess is that something is wrong with the
"greeter" script which may or may not be connected with gdm xdm.
Also, when I tried installing debian - a tough love fix - the install
process was halted by some mysterious hardware error.

However I don't expect anyone to solve all my problems tomorrow. Just
thought I'd show it off as a curiosity. If anyone has any advice I can
go back home with and try I'll be very appreciative.

See you tomorrow.

May I ask where these meetings take place, and if they are opened to all NSLUG members. If so, what time?

***   Hope it's a good one. Unfortunately, I will be attending the Rex
Murphy lecture and cannot make it. See you all next month!

See this post by Ben Armstrong for the details.

The meetings are open to everyone.

By the way, the last few times we met downstairs (partly due to
summertime heat).  It's cooler now, and a lot of people seem to be
planning to go, so I'll be arriving early and setting up *upstairs*
this time, as there is more room up there.

Argh.  I'm at the café now, and there is very little available seating
at this time.  I don't know what it will be like closer to 5:30, but at
7 pm the chalkboard out front says there is a talk scheduled for
upstairs ... so I think we'll just have to scrap for whatever space
there is available.
