Such a fine day - sun is shining - and I can gladly announce the
pre-release of Luma 3.0. 6 students from the Norwegian University of
Technology and Science (www.ntnu.no) have done a lot of work on Luma
as part of a course since January 2011.

So what's new?
* Rewrite to support QT4
* Improved logging-mechanism
* UI-code seperated from backend - conforming to the ModelViewController-model
* Codebase much more robust - many if not all bugs from 2.4 are gone
* Plugins ready/shipped for Luma 3.0 is Browser and Template
* Developed and testet on multiple platforms - including
  - Linux
  - Windows
  - Mac OS
* And many more improvements
* Available packages for:
  - Fedora 14
  - Generic Linux (rpm)
  - Linux Source distribution
  - Windows exe installer
  - Windows msi installer
  - Windows source distribution
  - Mac OS source distribution

For those eager to try it out - I've put it up for download
at http://www.grotan.com/luma3/ - and we will post the happy news
on http://luma.sourceforge.net before release.

Yeah, sorry about that. I wasn't really thinking. I'm on vacation....

I wanted to tell Bjørn Ove that the GIT repository was up the way I
was hoping to get it up (retaining all subversion history in branches
and getting the new Luma 3.0 git repository imported to the master
branch.

The layout are a bit different now, there are no tags, branches,
trunk, and I've also removed the luma-www folder (which was holding
the SourceForge web site and nothing related to the actual code of the
project). This means that there where only one folder left (the luma
folder) so I removed that level as well keeping all the code at the
root level. This fitted best with how the separate Luma3.0 git
repository was structed as well.

Anyway, the repo is now up to date and ready for use I think. If you
have any pathces, the easiest way is probably if I can pull from an
external git repo.
