MCF52223 ADC power and ADC reference connections

I'm trying to find out how best to connect the power delivery for the ADC and how to connect up the reference for the ADC to obtain the best performance. However, the docs. are lacking.
 
One thought is to connect both together to a precision source. Another is to power the ADC from either the same source or a filtered version of the processor's core power and power the reference from another precision source.
 
Any links to info. would be greatly appreciated.
