MSN Pandora BotI created a program that lets you put your bot on MSN Messenger and
talk to other users. This program is a stand-alone program so you don't
have to worry about it taking up your existing MSN Messenger (or
Windows Live Messenger as it's now called). Just go to http://nickjuly4.googlepages.com/msnpandora

I haven't been able to connect to any panorabots or alice site for two weeks running. I always get a Network Timeout. After my company paid for the "Be your own botmaster" book I was given links to download a PDF version of the book or a Word version. I can't even access these any longer. How much longer is this blackout going to last? Mark _______________________________________________ This is the pandorabots-general mailing list To Post, reply to pandorabots-general@... Re: MSN Pandora BotThis is a good idea. Thank you very much for introducing this
software. People write to us all the time asking for Pandorabots<--->IM solutions. Re: Pandora Bot server maxed out?Well the good news for bot developers is
that there is more interest in chatbots than ever before; thanks to the rapid
progress in ‘complementary’ technologies such as Avatar engines and
speech to text software. The bad news is that commercial investment
is still probably two years in the future. The free server has had
increasing overload / timeout issues in the past few years. Except
for companies like Google or AOL; few have the money for a redundant server
setup that can handle thousands of simultaneous sessions. Assuming
a lack of funding, the only thing Dr. Wallace can do is limit the number of
users to a first come, first serve basis with session time limits.
Better for some to be blocked for a time than the service be dead to all.
Also there have been a few ‘bot hogs’ in the past; who having
created a popular bot in a public forum that eats up most of the public server’s
resources. There also needs to be a resource governor to limit the
greedy. Of course such rules and limits need to be posted for all. From:

Re: Pandora Bot server maxed out? It’s also pretty easy to set up your own bot server using one of
the AIML engines provided for free on the website. Granted, the editing isn’t
quite as easy, but GaitoBot isn’t too bad. Regards, scotto… -- Scott P Overmyer, PhD Director, MSIS Program Center for Graduate Studies Baker College From:

Program EI tried running 'Program E' on a PHP server, only to discover that some of
the language (split|explode, eregi|preg_match) in respond.php has been deprecated. Has anyone updated this code to run in modern PHP? It doesn't look like the project at SourceForge has been updated since 2005, unless I am mistaken. Thanks for your kind assistance and feedback! -- Michael _______________________________________________ This is the pandorabots-general mailing list To Post, reply to pandorabots-general@... Re: Program EHi Michael, although this is the Pandorabots list and we recommend
trying Pandorabots free server first, you may also be interested in a newer PHP/MySQL AIML program called "Program O": http://www.program-o.com/ which is actively supported. Re: Program E> you may also be interested in a newer PHP/MySQL
> AIML program called "Program O": Thank you very much! I just finished updating Program E to work with PHP 5.3, but I'm quite happy to start fresh with Program O, since there's an active interest in it. I do already use Pandorabots, my sincere apologies for the off topic post. Thanks again! _______________________________________________ This is the pandorabots-general mailing list To Post, reply to pandorabots-general@... Re: Program EMike, you may want to consider posting your Program E improvements
somewhere. Others could be interested too.
