MSN wont run on 2.6.3

I found the below link looking for solutions and it seems like a long drawn out process. It would be easier to just run pidgin and the msn clients simultaneously then go through that. Is it the only solution?

What is the specific problem you're having?

Why do you think that building Pidgin yourself fix whatever problem that is?

Rebuilding isn't going to help - the source will be the same as what
you're already using.

You're going to need to provide information about why it isn't
connecting before anyone can help with your connection issue.

The debug did not work. It did not create a .rpt file anywhere that I can
find. I ran the install a 2nd time just in case and still nothing. Pidgin
does not "crash", just the MSN portion does not connect. Any other
suggestions?

I pasted the relevant portion of the debug output above.
Something (likely a firewall) is preventing the connection.

Perhaps there is a proxy server you need to be using to connect.

Alternatively, you can try the "HTTP Method" checkbox in the
"advanced" section of the MSN account configuration.
