Mac PPC 10.5 Tester

Hi gang. I'd like to become involved in quality assurance for Open
Office MacPPC platform. I have a Mac G4 running 10.5.8 and I'd very
much like to see the 3.1.1 RC approved for distribution. English
language only unfortunately.

I would appreciate some directions on how to proceed, what to
download, where to sign up, and what reports to generate.

Welcome to the bug arena!
I'm not a MAC user so the following is some common advices and should
perhaps be commented by MAC testers.

1 - First you should have a look at
http://qa.openoffice.org/ooQAReloaded/Docs/QA-Reloaded-HowToStart.html 
and register yourself on the website.

2 - I would suggest you to then read some existing issues (even closed
one) in order to see how people add comments with:
  - explicit hardware and software configuration,
  - step-by-step procedure to reproduce,
  - exact words (from english menus, etc.)

3 - Third, I would suggest (but it is only my own opinion) to have a
look at unconfirmed issues in order to help qualifying it by adding
comments on whether you are able to reproduce or not and with which OOo
version on which hardware and OS.

3-1: First on explicitly PPC hardware:

To be able to change the status of the IssueTracker issue that you send
as distribution request
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/enter_bug.cgi?component=qa
you should send me your OpenOffice.org login name. Without this ID I'm
not able to change appropriate "Canconfirm" role within IssueTracker's
database. I also need this to create an account at
http://qatrack.services.openoffice.org for you to allow you to add this
build to the releases tracking tool QATrack.

I believe here are several QA members who will help you to create a
running VCL TestTool test environment. Maybe Rafael Bircher would like
to help. AFAIK he's also running a PPC environment. CC'ed him.

I have this file installed, and also some other english variants, as
well as the milestone 2 build of 3.2.0 beta. I will take it on myself
to test US-english, GB-english, and ZA-english. I'll make sure to
check with people I know from the continents I don't live upon for
anything which appears strange to me in the localization.

I'll be reading the links you've given me before any issues get
addressed, confirmed, or changed with any additional permissions you
choose to grant me. And that's not happening tonight :D way too tired
to think straight or fool around with the community's intellectual
assets.
