MailRedirect needs updating for Thunderbird 3.0

The superb mailredirect extension does not work with Thunderbird 3.0
(beta 2), and even if you bump the version number to force it to be
installed it still doesn't work. Is there any expert who can fix this. I
and many others still value this extension (in fact it was the main
reason I started using Thunderbird in the first place!)
