Mailing-lists statisticsHi all,
As I was recovering some data on an old laptop, I stumbled upon a very old file I had which listed the number of subcribers to our mailing-lists. And for those who like some statistics, here are some numbers. For Groovy, back in december 2005, we had those figures: groovy:announce:7 groovy:dev:237 groovy:jsr:129 groovy:scm:49 groovy:user:368 total = 790 subscribers And today, here's what we have: groovy:announce:236 groovy:dev:430 groovy:jsr:166 groovy:scm:75 groovy:user:839 total = 1746 subscribers That's an increase of 127% for the user list, and of 81% for the dev list. Ie. we've doubled. Not bad. Now for Grails, it's even funnier, because Grails was only a few months old. See the figures for december 2005: grails:announce:2 grails:dev:22 grails:scm:9 grails:user:20 total = 53 subscribers And today: grails:announce:67 grails:dev:274 grails:scm:47 grails:user:631 total = 1019 Well, for Grails, I won't dare calculating the increase in percentage :-) I thought it would just be fun to give you those figures to see the progress we made since almost two years ago. -- Guillaume Laforge Groovy Project Manager G2One, Inc. Re: Mailing-lists statisticsSomeone wrote me today asking for updated figures regarding
mailing-list statistics. So, as I thought others may be interested in these stats, here they are. There's been a nice upward trend those past three months: grails-user 860 (36% increase) grails-dev 367 (34% increase) grails-announce 84 (25% increase) grails-scm 57 (21% increase) Total: 1368 (34% increase) groovy-user 949 (13% increase) groovy-dev 467 (9% increase) groovy-announce 276 (17% increase) groovy-scm 76 (1% increase) groovy-jsr 175 (5% increase) groovy-eclipse 83 (wasn't counted before) Total: 2026 (16% increase) And these days, the Groovy lists receive about 100 mails a day, and the Grails lists 150. Hope you find it interesting.
