Maintenance of libparams-util-perlHi Jonas:
Some months ago, I filed bug #537296, which requested an upgrade for libparams-util-perl since one of the packages I'd like to upload is blocked by it. I have not heard from you since, and would like to know what your intentions are with respect to this package. If you are no longer interested in this package, I would like to extend an offer of the pkg-perl team's services to maintain this in the future. I see that many of your packages are already maintained under the pkg-perl group. I understand that your other obligations are probably preventing you from keeping this package up-to-date, and given the popularity of this particular package and the necessity of the new version for libcpandb-perl, I think it's important to have it upgraded. Of course, if you do decide to allow the group to take over the package, you can remain as an uploader and continue to maintain it yourself, if you so choose. My only interest is having the new version upgraded and uploaded to the Debian archive. Thanks for maintaining this module; hopefully I hear from you soon about your intentions with respect to the future of this package. block 531238 with 537296 thanks On Wed, 30 Sep 2009 11:57:32 -0400, Jonathan Yu wrote: > Some months ago, I filed bug #537296, which requested an upgrade for > libparams-util-perl since one of the packages I'd like to upload is > blocked by it. Now there's another one: the newer version of libsql-statement-perl also needs Params::Util 1.00. Since libsql-statement-perl 1.22 fixes an RC bug a newer libparams-util-perl would be much appreciated. I think you deserve the benefit of the doubt, so I'll try to give you more time in case you've just been out of contact for awhile or too busy to upgrade it yourself. I think a NMU is an appropriate course of action for now, short of totally hijacking the package from you. It puzzles me that you have not yet responded to this bug report nor my inquiry on debian-qa@... as to your MIA-status, given that the version available in Debian (0.38) was released upstream on 16 Feb 2009. Daniel: I'm sorry of this is just noise to you; who-uploads indicates that you were the sponsor for the previous releases of this, so perhaps you have some other way of getting in touch with Jonas and letting him know of our plans, or if he has orphaned his Debian package contributions. > > Cheers, > gregor > > -- > .''`. http://info.comodo.priv.at/ -- GPG Key IDs: 0x00F3CFE4, 0x8649AA06 > : :' : Debian GNU/Linux user, admin, & developer - http://www.debian.org/ > `. `' Member of VIBE!AT, SPI Inc., fellow of FSFE | http://got.to/quote/ > `- NP: Eagles > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) > > iEYEARECAAYFAkrYa2cACgkQOzKYnQDzz+RcCgCfRZ8hr/nKArhvv1Xuh/4fnYhh > iREAoKy+7MPqIHxYf+cH+JAxCBbhQ8ul > =sW+H > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-perl-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe".
