This is sort of machine behavior is seldom down to launching an .exe file or similar, more often it is down to social engineering such as using Yahoo messenger and then putting your login details into a separate site that will 'Tell you who has added you recently' or similar, a quick change of password to something robust (Assuming your account has not been locked out) normally works.
Cheers

Subject: Malware: no and no and I don't know
Once again sorry about this spy situation.
I opened nothing with .exe ("I may be crazy but I ain't no fool"). Whatever automated device was used managed to enter my Yahoo address book and send out "invitations" to everyone.
As far as I can tell - and it's been a month or so - there is no further evil lurking. But I use a licensed and online-updated Kaspersky antivirus so I expect to catch whatever is out there.
In this case it clearly did not. I do not know what to advise you (not that sophisticated software-wise) except to be aware of this.
Boo hoo.
