Would be worth adding this as an issue at http://bugs.farcrycms.org/
-- I think that if you need to "updateapp" after a roles or
permissions change, that this ought to be done automatically by the
system.  Ideally the only time you should have to do a manual
"updateapp" is when you make a change to the underlying code.

Hi Geoff,

Whilst I found that the issue "disappeared" after updating the app I
can not say definitively that this is the resolution. I am currently
creating a lot of roles and permissions as a result of integrating
another application into the farcry framework. If I can replicate and
this resolve the issue via the stated method (or any other method) I
will add to the bugs.farcry.
