Hi All,

The Marvelution team would like to announce the release of Bamboo Sonar Plugin version 1.0.0.

The Bamboo Sonar Plugin provides a post build action to update the projects on Sonar.
For this, users are able to configure global (shared) Sonar Servers or a Build Plan specific Sonar Server,
as well as configure Sonar Light for non Maven 2 projects.

More information on the project can be found:

Hi Mark,

Happy to see Marvelution (http://www.marvelution.com/) investing in Sonar.

I'm just a bit disappointed for Ross Rowe who is currently compete for the Atlassian Codegeist (http://www.atlassian.com/codegeist/) and who has also written another Bamboo Sonar plugin :

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CODEGEIST/Bamboo+Sonar+Plugin

Let's say, the more, the merrier.

For those interested in a tighter integration between Sonar and Atlassian World, the next valuable step is certainly a JIRA integration (portlet with treemap, Sonar project dashboard as a new tab inside a JIRA project dashboard, ...)

Thanks Mark !

Freddy

Hi Freddy,

I've got an initial version of a set of Sonar Gadgets as another entry for Codegeist (http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CODEGEIST/Sonar+Gadget).

This is intended to implement the integration between Jira v4 (and Bamboo when version 2.4 is released) and Sonar.  At the moment, I've only included Line Count and Coverage gadgets, but will hopefully come up with a few more before Codegeist finishes!

Cheers,

Ross

Looks like there are atleast two Atlassian and Sonar lovers in the house :)

After reading the mail from Freddy I also decided to start a new project (http://issues.marvelution.com/browse/MARVJIRASONAR/) but I only have some requirements set now and will not start coding for about 2-3 weeks, still have some other things to do first.

Still I think I will continue. As I think its better to have a choice then no choice, or as Freddy sad the more the merrier. :)

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Ross and Mark,

The integration of Sonar in the Atlassian tools ecosystem has a so great potential and there are so many pieces of integration to develop that you should be able to work on complementary plugins. Both of you didn't know that the other one was working on the Bamboo plugin and that's life but for future development, it would be a pity to reproduce this error.

What I suggest is to list all the possible Atlassian Sonar plugins on this mailing and perhaps we can reach a kind of gentlemen agreement to know who is going to do what.

Feel free to add new ideas to this list of possible plugins :
  • JIRA gadget to display the treemap of projects
  • JIRA gadgets to display the existing Sonar project dashboard portlets (Ross has a done a first version)
  • JIRA project tab to display the Sonar project dashboard
  • Crucible plugin to decorate source code with all information available in Sonar : duplications, coverage, violations, ...
  • JIRA gadget to display Sonar Timemachine graph
  • Bambo plugin is already there
  • Crowd plugin to manage authentication and authorization with the upcoming Sonar API (version 1.12)
  • ....
cheers,
Freddy

It would also be nice for a Sonar plugin that would allow you to start
code reviews on a given project for violations, etc. Also, if there
was a way in Crucible (not sure, still learning parts of it), to see
the review coverage of a file, to make that a metric that Sonar uses.
