Max Connections to MySQL

Hi -

One of my more active sites is sometimes triggering a max user
connections limit, requiring a Lasso site restart. I'm in a shared
hosting arrangement with Lasso 8.5.6. Specifically Lasso Site admin
reports this:

Message: MySQLDS failed connecting to MySQL. errno=1203 "User ND_L has
already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections"

This doesn't happen all the time, but has occurred with some more
frequency recently.

With a look at the list archives I find a thread earlier this year,
that included this advice from Bil Corry:

And then Mason Miller just posted a question, to which I haven't seen
a response, about Lasso not releasing connections.

I'm wondering if I'm treading in the same waters, and whether anyone
has found a way to either debug the problem or at least understand it
better.
