Maximize window makes it thinner

Hi all,

When I hit the green "maximize" button on my Aquamacs window, it maximizes vertically (which is the behavior I like), but the window also gets thinner. My buffer, which used to be 80 characters wide is down to 78 or 79 and lines wrap around. Of course, I can adjust the window width again by dragging the corner, but it seems that could be avoided.

Sorry for posting such a trivial-sounding issue but I'm finding it is bothersome when you write code and don't want lines longer than 79 characters.

Is this an issue with Aquamacs, or some Aqua side effect? I'm still using 1.8 on Leopard. If that's at all relevant, I'm using Monaco regular 11pt as default in all buffers. I've observed this will all past versions of Aquamacs that I've tried.

Thanks in advance !

It's unlikely that this will change in the Aquamacs 1.x series.
I don't see such behavior in the 2.x versions (see nightly builds on
website).  Do you reproduce your issue (with your settings) in 2.x?
