Maybe OT?

I'm running 8.04 LTS 64 bit server and added the desktop and a few tools, including Sun Netbeans 6.7.
I built a quick page using a couple of the jMaki widgets, one of which is the dojo clock. On opening the page in FF (from Ubu repository),
a message appears telling me that FF does not support SVG/VML.
Does anyone know if this Is due to the version of FF in the repo? I have found a couple of instances of this in googling, but they all end saying that FF 3+ has SVG support at least.
