Medium present not present

Hi,

When I start K3b with a blank DVD+R disc in my DVD burner it show no
medium present. Then after a while it shows information about my
medium. But then it goes back to the state where it says no medium
present. It continues like this back and forth and never seem to stop.
What might be the cause?

I am using K3b 1.0.5.

Hi Richard,

Does this only happen with a particular brand of media?
Does it happen with a different branded dvd recorder?

Occasionally there are combinations of drives and media that do not play nicely, sometimes these can be addressed with a firmware update to the dvd recorder.... ymmv

Regards,
Marco

I do not have the ability to test with another DVD recorder.

I tried to insert a CD disc instead of a DVD and the problem went away.

I am pretty sure though that I have used the same DVD medium before without any
problems (with the same burner). The version of K3b might have been
different though.

I was able to burn my disc using GnomeBaker.
