I have a idea about file managers like nautilus or dolphin.

OpenOffice have a interesting action to change options while you click in different objects. For example , when you click on a  table ,openoffice shows a new toolbar related with table facilities.

I think, it 's a good idea to implement this in file managers. For example when a user click on a mpeg file associed with video lan  , nautilus show a toolbar with mpeg related options of videolan. .

This is the wrong list for such suggestions, here we discuss shared standards,
not GUI improvements. Please use the bug/feature tracker of the file
manager you're interested in.

I think he suggested this in this list because the implementation would
need some kind of shared mime-type/actions-able-to-be-performed db used
by every desktop and maybe a new field on .desktop files.

I think it could be a good idea :]
