Can anyone point me in the direction of some good resources to explain migrating a WAS app to Tomcat. Google has not been a big help.

Your question is vague.  I would start by copying the .war file over to tomcat and firing it up and seeing what breaks.

It depends on what your app is doing and which pieces of the J2EE stack you are using.
