Missing xtime_lock on Centos 5Hello folks,
I've been trying to compile the iomtr_kstat kernel module from 2008-06-22-rc2 against my current centos 5. The compile process reports a missing symbol (xtime_lock). WARNING: "xtime_lock" [/tmp/iometer-2008-06-22-rc2/iometer-2008_06_28.linux.x86_64-bin/src/iomtr_kstat/iomtr_kstat.ko] undefined! I'm running on that kernel : Linux max2.paris 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5 #1 SMP Wed Nov 12 09:19:49 EST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux kallsyms confirms that xtime_lock isn't defined. [root@max2 iomtr_kstat]# grep xtime_lock /proc/kallsyms [root@max2 iomtr_kstat]# How can this be fixed on this kernel series ? IIRC, xtime_lock is published (or not) directly by the kernel regarding the hardware capabilities. So, I don't think I can tweak the kernel or probe a module to have that symbol exported; Any thoughts on that ? Re: Missing xtime_lock on Centos 5you ONLY need that module for xscale CPU. ignore it. just build dynamo
and iometer.
