Mobile OpenID support?Does anyone have some pointers to mobile sites that use
OpenID?
For example i can log into LiveJournal using my OpenID
on a mobile but only through the desktop browser interface - the LiveJournal
mobile UI [1] [2] doesn't seem to support OpenID.
Looking for some sites that support it as part of their
mobile UX.
many thanks,
steven

Re: Mobile OpenID support? You mean, "mobile" in as sense of "mobile handset app"?
Then, I do not know.... =nat On Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 4:45 AM, Steven Livingstone-Perez <weblivz@...> wrote: > Does anyone have some pointers to mobile sites that use OpenID? > > For example i can log into LiveJournal using my OpenID on a mobile but only > through the desktop browser interface - the LiveJournal mobile UI [1] > [2] doesn't seem to support OpenID. > > Looking for some sites that support it as part of their mobile UX. > > many thanks, > steven > http://livz.org > > [1] http://www.livejournal.com/mobile/login.bml > [2] http://m.livejournal.com/login?back_uri=/start > _______________________________________________ > general mailing list > general@... > http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general > > -- Nat Sakimura (=nat) http://www.sakimura.org/en/ _______________________________________________ general mailing list general@... http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general |

Re: Mobile OpenID support?Hi Nat.
Yes - seems to me a big win of OpenID could be a simple UX on mobile devices. steven -------------------------------------------------- From: "Nat Sakimura" <sakimura@...> Sent: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 1:01 PM To: "Steven Livingstone-Perez" <weblivz@...> Cc: "OpenID List" <general@...> Subject: Re: [OpenID] Mobile OpenID support? > You mean, "mobile" in as sense of "mobile handset app"? > > Then, I do not know.... > > =nat > > On Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 4:45 AM, Steven Livingstone-Perez > <weblivz@...> wrote: >> Does anyone have some pointers to mobile sites that use OpenID? >> >> For example i can log into LiveJournal using my OpenID on a mobile but >> only >> through the desktop browser interface - the LiveJournal mobile UI [1] >> [2] doesn't seem to support OpenID. >> >> Looking for some sites that support it as part of their mobile UX. >> >> many thanks, >> steven >> http://livz.org >> >> [1] http://www.livejournal.com/mobile/login.bml >> [2] http://m.livejournal.com/login?back_uri=/start >> _______________________________________________ >> general mailing list >> general@... >> http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general >> >> > > > > -- > Nat Sakimura (=nat) > http://www.sakimura.org/en/ > general mailing list general@... http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general |

Re: Mobile OpenID support?I completely agree. Many people seems to use OAuth for this purpose,
but OpenID should be capable of doing it as an Authentication Protocol proper. We need a sample flow on a target platform so that we can "reality check." What mobile platform are you having in mind? =nat On Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 5:04 AM, Steven Livingstone-Perez <weblivz@...> wrote: > Hi Nat. > > Yes - seems to me a big win of OpenID could be a simple UX on mobile > devices. > > steven > > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "Nat Sakimura" <sakimura@...> > Sent: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 1:01 PM > To: "Steven Livingstone-Perez" <weblivz@...> > Cc: "OpenID List" <general@...> > Subject: Re: [OpenID] Mobile OpenID support? > >> You mean, "mobile" in as sense of "mobile handset app"? >> >> Then, I do not know.... >> >> =nat >> >> On Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 4:45 AM, Steven Livingstone-Perez >> <weblivz@...> wrote: >>> >>> Does anyone have some pointers to mobile sites that use OpenID? >>> >>> For example i can log into LiveJournal using my OpenID on a mobile but >>> only >>> through the desktop browser interface - the LiveJournal mobile UI [1] >>> [2] doesn't seem to support OpenID. >>> >>> Looking for some sites that support it as part of their mobile UX. >>> >>> many thanks, >>> steven >>> http://livz.org >>> >>> [1] http://www.livejournal.com/mobile/login.bml >>> [2] http://m.livejournal.com/login?back_uri=/start >>> _______________________________________________ >>> general mailing list >>> general@... >>> http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general >>> >>> >> >> >> >> -- >> Nat Sakimura (=nat) >> http://www.sakimura.org/en/ >> > -- Nat Sakimura (=nat) http://www.sakimura.org/en/ _______________________________________________ general mailing list general@... http://lists.openid.net/mailman/listinfo/openid-general |

Re: Mobile OpenID support?I've written about OpenID in mobile apps (specifically on the iPhone):
You might check out Dopplr on the iPhone — which uses OAuth and allows to signin via OpenID through the web browser (currently the only practice that supports OpenID in non-browser software). Chris
