I am trying to find out the exact model number of my '78XS750SE. My serial # is 1J7305721. I pulled up some paperwork on the Triples web site, but none matched mine. Any thoughts??
Thanks,
Ron

What is the manufactured date shown on the sticker
on the front of the frame?  That will tell you pretty
accurately.  Anything later than June 1978 is almost
certain to be a 1979 model.  I'll check my 1978 when
I get home from work.  I think it is pretty close to
your serial number, but I haven't looked in years.

Your bike IS a 1978 750SE (Special). It was originally either Macho Maroon, or Black/Gold in color. It would fall into the listing that begins with 1J7300xxxx . About the 4th listing down in the chart on the website.
Is that the info you needed?

My 1978 XS-650SE with Ser Nr of 1J7-300697
has a build date of 10/77.  I bought it new
in April of 1978.  I have the "Macho Maroon"
paint job with color matched Windjammer fairing
and Windcutter hard saddlebags.

I wonder if anybody here has an earlier one.
