Monospace font (font size <= 9) of gnome-terminal is not showing correctly?

Hi,

$ gnome-terminal --version
Gnome gnome-terminal 2.16.0

In my gnome-terminal can show differences in ',' and '.' when the font
size is <= 9. It shows ',' just like '.', except the dot of ',' is
barely higher than that of '.'. Can somebody let me know how to fix
it?
