More help with report generation

Forgot to ask this in my last question.  Is there a way to concatenate two
text fields (such as a first name and last name) in a report?

Do you use the Sun Report Builder (SRB)?
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/reportdesign
There you concatenate two strings just by [field1] + [field2].

[Arnold Roth]

Apparently I do since when I tried to download it I found it was already
loaded.  However, when I try to enable it, I get an error message about
"status not known".  Having done this, I've lost all connections to my data.
Does this ring any bells with you?  Have you seen similar problems?
