Dear All,
Maybe one of you has come across this problem and can point us in the right
direction. The Ethiopian mining authorities are preparing a mining cadastre
and have asked the Ethiopian Mapping Authority for an image map to use as a
back drop. Through a contractor, they have scanned and georeferenced their
entire collection of 1:50,000 maps and now want to join them to form a
continuous mosaic. And they have called on us for advice and/or assistance
with the problem of dealing with the size -- about 200 GB.
Have you had any experience with Mosaicking several large tiles, or could
you point us in the direction to look for possible solutions.
