Technically it may be possible I think but I'm not sure if this is good
design. But I understand that such a feature may reduce the effort for
redirecting mails. Let me think on this first.

Possible feature request

Hello,
would be nice to have the possibility to add a default destination address.
The address may appear into redirection form and user should only press the
"redirect" button, otherwise the entire process could be automatic, whitout
the redirection form.
We are a public organization and we need to deliver messages always to the
same address.

Dutch localization

Hi,
I had posted this over a year ago, but wasn`t subscribed to the mailing
list at the moment.

I can confirm this problem even with the latest version, downloaded today.
I use TB3b4 in Vista with ldap connection to Windows AD on our own Win28k server.

Latest version adds SeaMonkey 2.0.x support.

TB3 port and SeaMonkey 2.0

Hi,

The TB3 port won't load on SeaMonkey 2.0, which should be the same
backend and TB3. The error says:

Mail Redirect 0.7.4 could not be installed because it is not compatible
with SeaMonkey 2.0pre.

I'm using SeaMonkey 2.0 nightlies from:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/

At home where I use a Linux System I even can wait until the release of
TB3. At work I have to use a WinXP system and and I _really_ like the
new gloda search introduced in Beta4. So that's my problem: at work I'm
very often using the redirect function and I would like to stay with at
least Beta4. I will test mailredirect next week with my Windows system
and then tell you about my results. Perhaps Windows behaves different...

Well, I guess they have renamed some stuff in Beta4. Are you required to
use the Beta4 or can you use Beta3 instead? Unfortunately my

first of all: thank you for this essential extension and for porting to TB3.

I use TB3Beta4 on Suse Linux (11.1) and redirect does not work at all
for me. If I choose redirect nothing happens, no action, no error and
file jconsole.txt is empty.

Is there anything I missed?

mail.jar/MsgComposeCommands.js. You can check what was changed there and

Well, the extension is not really maintained currently so it doesn't
matter. At least you trigger my attention if you write it here as you
have done.

Ok, this is possible. I did not check LDAP. At work we have a LDAP
directory so I'll try to reproduce it there. But first I need to update
my machine at work to the current Fedora which contains Thunderbird
3.0b3. I hope to get this done next week...

a short description is
I use LDAP to find addresses -
In any other part of my thunderbird 3.0.b3 (address book, write new mail, search address...) if I start to write an address I can find all users from LDAP
but if I try to redirect the mail
in the form of redirect (window) I start to write the address and after several second it will appear instead of the address this message

<LDAP initialization problem>

if I write by had the mail is redirected correct

I just sent this to the author who tells me he is out of the loop in terms of
further maintainance. If someone else can help, it wopuld be a good thing for
all of humanity (as well as me) ;-)

I'm new to TB so I'll try to be gentle. ;-)

I have Mail Redirect installed on TB 2.0.0.21 under linux. My system is
running sendmail and dovecot with spamassassin and spamass-milter. I need to
take spam and pass it through sa-learn so that the bayes tables are properly
adjusted. I created an address that I can send messages to so that they will
be piped to a script that will read from stdin and run sa-learn. The problem
is that I also run some mailinglists. There are spam messages that sometimes
get past the filters and are sent to a list. The list manager traps the
message for my approval and the original message is an attachment to what I
get. I can open the attachment to view it and that viewer has a redirect
button, but it does not function; the redirect panel comes up but there's no
way to get the message (which is the attachment) to be known to the panel. The
addon only works on the message itself, but not on the attachment which is
what needs to be forwarded.

Is this something someone can fix?

Can I give you more information? Am I explaining this well enough?

BTW, I am using TB because I just migrated from alpine. Alpine had a nice
"bounce" function which is where I got the need to have the same functionality
in TB. Your addon looks like it does what I want, with this one issue.

If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Read especially the later comments (from mid to late last year). It
sounds like some of the required code is already in the Thunderbird
back end. Anyone considering developing might also consider adding
the rest of the required code to TB itself.
