Just posted this to SF.net:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2848698&group_id=66938&atid=516298Based on the idea of Hyperscore:
http://fora.tv/2009/07/02/Transforming_Music_Tod_Machover#Hyperscore_Lets_Kids_Compose_Music_by_DrawingA musical Magic tool could be created using the current Magic API. Draw
lines of various colors onto the canvas, and ask the Magic tool to 'read'
the picture and play sounds.
Drawing could be done using the Paint mode of the Magic tool, which simply
provides a basic brush and color palette, but as you draw up/down, sounds
are played (different instruments depending on the color), and pitch
changes. This would allow active composition.
Playback could be done using the Effect Whole Image mode. Any other colors
drawn onto the picture (say, via other paint tools, rubber stamps, text,
etc!) would also get interpreted. (Not unlike this:

It wouldn't be a replacement for Hyperscore or a real musical tool, but it
would be a very cool mash-up, I think. (Thanks to Chris Horsting for
directing me to Hyperscore)
Anyone up for it? ;)
