Picard 0.11 should fix all known problems with the server release, but
here are also some other bug fixes and ehnancements. See the changelog

libmusicbrainz 3.0.2 has been released. It's a minor bug-fix release,
that should've been released a long time ago, but due to me forgetting
about it, it wasn't. :(

Changes in this release:

- Added mb_track_get_artist to the C API. (#3817)
- Fix incorrect string comparision in the XML parser code. (#3614)
- Fix compilation on GCC 4.3 (#3490 and #3613, patch by Ross Burton and
"dirtyepic")

Picard 0.10 released!

Hello,

the final version of Picard 0.10 is finally released. There is not many
changes since the RC, but it still took me 2 months to find time to do
the release - sorry about that.

As usually, it can be downloaded from
http://musicbrainz.org/doc/PicardDownload . For now only source code
tarball and Windows installer. Mac OS X package will hopefully be ready
soon.

Changes since the RC are:

* Fixed crash when reading CD TOC on 64-bit systems
* Fixed handling of MP4 files with no metadata
* Change the hotkey for help to the right key for OS X
* Replace special characters after tagger script evalutaion to allow
special characters being replaced by tagger script
* Actually ignore 'ignored (folksonomy) tags'
* Remove dependency on Mutagen 1.13, version 1.11 is enough now
* Escape ampersand in release selection (#3748)

Picard 0.10.0rc1

after a few months, a new testing release of Picard (0.10.0rc1) has been
released. I actually wanted to call it just 0.10.0, but it includes some
bigger changes and the Windows installer uses a new version of Qt, so I
decided to make a RC and the final release next weekend, if no serious
bugs are reported.

Picard 0.9.0 BETA released!

Hi all,

after a long time, here comes the beta version of Picard 0.9 (aka
PicardQt). First I have to say, sorry that it took me so long to make
this release. There was an important regression in the last alpha
releases, which caused that Picard started randomly crashing and the
bug wasn't very easy to find. Hopefully it should be back to normal.

Changes since the last release are:

* Save ASIN to MP4 files.
* Add a --disable-locales option to setup.py build. (Santiago M. Mola)
* New threading code, should make Picard crash less and be faster.
* Replace initial dot in file and directory names. (#3204, Philipp Wolfer)
* Fixed caps in the default cover art image. (#3242, Bogdan Butnaru)
* Fixed broken naming preview. (#3214, Daniel Bumke)
* Re-enable the drag/drop target indicators. (#3106)
* Fix adding files and directories from the command line. (#3075)
* Don't show the cover art box by default.
* Lookup files individually for "Unmatched Files", not as a cluster.

There should be no upgrade surprises, except cleared password in the
options, which you will have to re-enter. All plugins that worked with
0.9.0alpha14 should work also with this release.

Currently we have only source code tarball and Windows installer.
Later today I'd like to build Ubuntu 7.10 packages. Eventually also
Mac OS X installer should be added, but we need to find a volunteer to

goes well, I'll release a beta next week and make it a little more
public. After the beta release, I'll not change anything that would

libmusicbrainz 2.1.5 and 3.0.0 released

after long time I've finally decided to release libmusicbrainz 3.0.0 and
while I was on it, I did a 2.1.5 bug-fix release.

For those who don't know, libmusicbrainz3 is basically a completely new
C++ library that uses the new XML web service and was designed after the
"reference" XML WS client, python-musicbrainz2. This means it's not
source code nor binary compatible with libmusicbrainz2. For the API

End of year fundraiser!

MusicBrainz' servers are smoking and generally overloaded these days.
Fortunately, we have one more unused server that needs drives and a
RAID controller before we can use it. Rich Gibson, a friend of
MusicBrainz has even pledged a place for us to stash the server for
free!

So, to make that happen I would like to kill two birds with one stone:

1. Get you a tax deduction before tax year 2005 comes to a close
2. Get more hardware to bring another server online.

This will allow us to bring one new server online. This new server
would be used for Picard tagging, calculating indexes for Picard and
the upcoming PimpMyTunes command line tagger. Before too long we
would also perform all MusicBrainz searches with this machine. This
would give much better search results and lighten the load on the
main database server.

From now until the end of the year, if we collect $500, I will
purchase:

* Two Ultra 320 SCSI 36Gb drives for about $150 each
* One Adaptec Zero Channel RAID controller for about $200

and then boot the server and put it to use as outlined above. If we
collect $1000, I will also purchase the following to upgrade zim (the
all purpose server) from the current single drive configuration that
is too small for our current needs:

* One SATA RAID Controller for about $250
* Two SATA150 200Gb Seagate drives for $150 each

This release includes a redesigned navigation system, changes to the
Autofix (a.k.a. Guess Case) tool and Album Editor. Track durations
