MySQL, but still Derby files

Hi,

I configured my Magnolia to run with MySQL and followed the page
http://wiki.magnolia-cms.com/display/WIKI/MySQL+Persistence

After starting Magnolia there were some tables created in MySQL but
there were also the Derby files in the filesystem (in
magnolia-4.1.1/apache-tomcat-5.5.27/webapps/magnoliaAuthor/repositories/magnolia/repository/).

Why are there any Derby files?
Is there something wrong with my config for MySQL?

Did you made the configuration changes prior installing the Magnolia
instance first time? If not the derby related files are probably just a
left over from previous (derby based) installation.

How do you know there are derby files? What you see at the path
mentioned above is a repository configuration and lucene indexes, not
necessarily the "derby files". If you were using derby, the "derby
files" would exist in ... repository/workspaces/<workspace_name>/db

Hard to say w/o looking at your config :) But since you claim to have a
tables created in the DB then it is most likely fine.

Are they data files or only indexing files?
In Jackrabbit "common way of doing" the persistence storage is indexed
by Lucene and Lucene indexes are stored on filesystem.

Hi,

Thanks for the hints.

Yes, I made the config changes before I installed Magnolia.

And I think the files in the repositories directory are index files.

There was also a derby.log file and then I realised that I had only
configured the magnoliaAuthor webapp and not the magnoliaPublic; so the
magnoliaPublic webapp is still running on derby.

Thanks again,
Thomas
