Mysterious font behaviour in compose message boxHello,
I use a mono-type font called Chantilly from Softmaker.de in the compose window of claws-mail. I'm running Debian unstable and use the UWM desktop or window manager my problem is best illustrated by typing some text: If I type short versus like a poem say the last stanza form 'Invictus' It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. everything would appear to be fine. If I type instead longer lines, I get this: This collection of verse is Houseman's signature work. Mixing the styles of This collectithe traditional English ballad and classical verse, the young This collectiHouseman takes on the growing pains of youth and young love. This collectiHousHis verse is noted for its economy of words and directness This collectiHousHis versof statement, pictures of the English countryside, This collectiHousHis versand the fusion of humour and pathos. As each line is added more of the previous line is dragged down and added to the next line. I've set the length of line at 76 characters and use the auto-wrap option. Any idea what might be causing this to happen? -- CK --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: claws-mail-users-unsubscribe@... Re: Preferences Dialog - FunctionsHi Guys,
I am doing some work on Claws Mail (which I shall reveal later...) however I would be very happy if you could explain the functions of some items in the preferences dialog, I need to know *exactly* what they do however I cannot seem to find what some of them do (or cannot be sure): Composing > Wrapping: What is the difference between 'auto wrapping' and then 'wrap at n characters'? What does each do independent of eachother? Message View > Text Options: The scrolling options don't seem to work for me, what *should* they do in any case? Other > Miscellaneous: What does the 'Socket I/O timeout' entry do? What does the 'Add address to destination when double-clicked' option do? Metadata Handling - The 'safer' mode writes data directly to disk, however what does the 'faster' mode do exactly? It is actually the reason I signed up for the list. In defense to the developers I do run Debian unstable and this system is hard on software. There are 'shoals' of Libs being upgraded weekly, and after these sessions it's always interesting to see what doesn't work the same. A kind of poor man's adventure land. -- CK --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: claws-mail-users-unsubscribe@... Thanks for this, I will be compiling a report in the next few days. As it Thanks would seem your work directly affects my problem in the compose Thanks window. As you see. -- CK --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: claws-mail-users-unsubscribe@... This news will probably send a chill through Colin and Paul in particular... after all this time, I was convinced the bug was gone. You might want to try compiling from scratch -- I've not seen this problem in about a year, and I really stress my system. I also run three instances of CM non-stop with multiple accounts -- all POP though. Re: Preferences Dialog - Functions> Sorry I didn't really understand what you meant
Sorry Andrew, I didn't understand what you meant either. It comes of not reading carefully. I thought you were working on my problem mentioned in the "Mysterious font behaviour etc. thread. Alas I see your letter had nothing to do with that. A horrible misunderstanding like in a Coen Bros. film. > Andrew > > Sunday, 27th September 2009 -- C. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: claws-mail-users-unsubscribe@...
