Hello,
This is a tough problem I am struggling
with for a couple of days : how to make my roads junction neat while taking
care of their elevation ?
The main problem is related to the data I am
using (TeleAtlas shape files).
I haven’t found a way yet to be able to
tell witch road element should be drawn first/last in order to have bridges above
tunnels and not the opposite.
Well I have one but it would need to make a
script with quite sophisticated queries and data sorting that I would like to
avoid.
Then comes the problem of neat junction. I
don’t want to see a secondary street dripping on a larger road at the
junction of those two.
When you don’t care about the
elevation, bridges and tunnels this is easily fixed by drawing the border first
then narrow secondary streets and finally main large roads.
But if I choose a different order to draw
roads elements I will have those dripping problems again.
I see on OpenStreetMap, as well as on
Google Maps that they can draw everything right so I am wondering what’s
the trick.
Can anyone help me or lead me to someone
who could ?
Thank you.
Nicolas.
