Need Some GpsDrive+Kismet Help

So does anyone know why none of the AP's that Kismet detects AND displays
correct coordinates for are being picked up by GpsDrive? This is the same
version of Kismet that I was using before I rebuilt my laptop. Aside from the
rebuild (with the same version of Kubuntu), the only thing that's changed is
the version of the SVN. Thoughts?

what does "before" mean?
the kismet code in gpsdrive hasn't been changed during the last year.
I will check this tonight...

Before means that when I was running Kubuntu 8.04 with Kismet, the AP's showed
up in GpsDrive as they were detected by Kismet. I recently did a fresh install
of 8.04 on the same hardware. The version of Kismet in Kubuntu is 2007.09.R1.
>From the previous emails, it looks like I compiled GpsDrive from SVN around
Jan 16th. The last time this happened to me was due to the label box not being
checked in the POI filter option. This is not the case now since I made sure
the box was set.

I can manually create a POI and it shows up with whatever type I've assigned
it.....it's the auto create from Kismet that doesn't seem to be working for
me.

Thanks.

I'll test that later this day and report back then.

You're welcome. I can confirm your observations that gpsdrive doesn't
show new APs from kismet. According to gpsdrive's output on the terminal
(with -D 99) it doesn't even try to connect to kismet.
I kept the output and the wireshark-packet-dump (to see what gpsdrive
and kismet are talking about) and will analyze them later (besides
having a very close look at the source). At the moment OpenOffice is
still compiling and that takes a good bit of my laptop's resources.

someone added the compile options to allow switching kismet support, but set
the wrong cflags, so gpsdrive wasn't compiled with kismet support even if the
WITH_KISMET switch was on.

fixed in svn rev 2428.

And *poof!* just like that, the AP's are now being auto-created in GpsDrive as
Kismet discovers them. Thanks for your help, Guenther. Now it's time do some
"driving" :-)
