OK guys... So I have set up CGI:IRC on
http://www.penschat.com - for a hockey channel on EFNet. I'm hoping people will like the chatroom and I'll make a few bucks from the site every month with ads, etc. I'm very much a newbie when it comes to all these things, so I'll need some help.
So, I'd like to change a few more things about the way it looks. I've had some trouble with the CSS, but for now the most important thing is having the user's real hosts display.
I read the info on displaying the users' hosts on
http://cgiirc.org/docs/advanced.phpI don't understand any of that to be honest. How do I patch my IRCd? I don't even know what that is or where to access it. My webhost is Dreamhost.
I would really appreciate a little help with this. I e-mailed Dave (the creator of CGI:IRC), to no avail.
You guys are welcome to test out the chat on the default channel (#penschatdotcomtest). If you guys have any comments about my setup, please let me know.
