Need to disable AyRecovery during large delete of file?

Hi,

I'm trying to find out if I would need to disable or uninstall AyRecovery first, if I want to overwrite a very large file on my hard drive (e.g. 10GB in size), using the free program called Eraser?

Thanks very much for reply. :)

Hello,

You do not need to disable or uninstall AyRecovery. If you want to remove the file completely and reclaim the space occupied by the file, you should do the following:

1. Erase the file.
2. Delete all the snapshots containing the file.
3. Run snapshot defragment to reclaim the space.

Should you have further issues, please let us know!

Best regards,
Peter
