Netbeans 6.7 and Advanced Options removal criticism
Dear netbeans fellows,
I recently updated to Netbeans version 6.7 and I noticed that the Advanced Options button has gone. After a quest about the matter I saw that the feature has been removed from version 6.5, which I havenât noticed. The idea of having options in one place is good but the implementation is quite wrong. For example: how can I change the grid size of the gui designer? Apparently, I have to change some configuration file which I donât know and cannot find and which is nowhere cited. As a result I am waiting for the next version of netbeans just a few days after the release of this version. Itâs totally unprofessional to remove this option before the merging is complete and ask users to file an issue if something is missing. I know that most of you reading this post have nothing to do with this decision but somehow I have to give a feedback and share my disappointment about this matter.
